The Morning Chant
Hearing the sound of the bell
All passions disappear
Wisdom arises
Enlightenment is manifest.
Hells are overcome
The abyss of fire avoided.
I vow to realise Buddhity
Liberating all beings.
AN CHYE LA DI YE SWO HE
AN CHYE LA DI YE SWO HE
AN CHYE LA DI YE SWO HE
Sublime, serene, powerful, immovable is the honoured and supreme Shurangama (rare in the world) who eliminates the deceived thoughts of endless eons, enabling my realization of the pure Dharmakaya. May I now mature the fruits obtaining the enlightenment to be able to liberate beings as numerous as the Gange sand grains: this great vow I offer to the numberless earths, recompensing in this way their Buddhas. With humility I implore the World Honoured to seal my vow: to appear in the inauspicious time of the five calamities, till even a single being achieves his Buddha Nature, renouncing to Nirvana. Great, courageous, majestic, compassionate. I do hope to have dispersed my most subtle ignorance, so that I can immediately obtain the supreme enlightenment, sitting in the Bodhimandala of the ten directions. Even if the vacuity should dissolve, my adamantine mind woul not fall back. |
