In
the Sixties and Seventies
In the 1959 Pinna begun his collaboration with the
weekly magazine "L'Espresso" that will last until the end of his carrer,
with important reportages on the other side of italian "economic boom",
the life of roman "borgate" and the divulgation of his work with De Martino
(La taranta, about rituals of collective exorcism in Salento,
Purificazione di giugno about religious rituals of purification in
Serra San Bruno convent, Il gioco della falce, about apothropaic
farmer ritual in Lucania), published in "L'Espresso Mese" during 1960 year.
The succeeding work for the magazine "L'Espresso"
is caracterized by differentiation of interest, from cultural life to fashion,
politics, show biz, and sometimes his pictures were included in the articles
of Camilla Cederna e Sergio Saviane. With the same eclectic attitude he
started his collaboration with the new milanese magazine "Panorama" (1962-1975),
obtaining a wider space for his pictures in this magazine modelled on the
example of the american "Time".
Thanks to his work with Federico
Fellini (1964-1976) Pinna's popularity increased, so he was
able to dedicate more time to his interest in movies, travelling, reportages
from abroad (Syria, 1966; Israel, 1967; U.S.S.R., 1969; Dalmatia, 1971;
China, 1973; Caucaso, 1974; Scotland and Albania, 1976; Australia e Siberia,
1977) that constituted his last works in the periodical review.
