La Bouche means The Mouth in French. Named after the big mouth of vocalist Melanie Thornton. The producers didn't think "The Mouth" was an appropriate name for a dance-act, so they decided to go with the French version, "La Bouche".  The first single, Sweet Dreams (o la o la e), was a big hit in Germany and France in 1994, and in the same time Melanie thornton has released the single "tonight is the night" with the group: le click (the same production of sweet dreams).  In the autumn 94 Melanie made a song with Aladino, a famous italian producer, "if you wanna be (my only)": by Orange blue.  The single which brought them the big success was "Be My Lover" in 95 hitting top 10 in many countries, including Holland, Germany and even the USA, getting the second place in italy for many weeks. It saw the light in 1994, but 1995 was the year it was picked up by many radiostations. At the time "Be My Lover" was storming the Billboard Hot 100 the third single was already released in Europe: "Falling In Love" was something completely different then the first two singles. Not a high energy eurodance track, but a groovy R&B, soul track.  After the release of Falling In Love the album "Sweet Dreams" was released. It was a very versatile album, with uptempo dance tracks, groovy R & B tracks and even ballads.
	The group biography The gorgeous vocals belongs to Melanie Thornton (born May 13, 1967) and the rap is performed by Lane McCray Jr (born April13,1962). Melanie went to Germany in the early 90's where she met Lane who was stationed with the American Air Force.  La Bouche is one of the strongest euro bands ever.   Lane, originally from Anchorage, Alaska, has a background as an all-around entertainer and performer in musical theater and also proved himself as a rapper.  Melanie studied Marketing at Hampton University in Hampton. She has studied voice from the age of six, and had long dreamed of a career in music. Her voice was finally discovered by the FMP Studios team in Germany, and she was undoubtedly the perfect singer for their project: "La Bouche".   Lane, whom she had recently met and began  performing with in a band called "Groovin'  Affairs", had the talent and striking looks to compliment Melanie's diva-powered vocals and sultry beauty, thus completing the concept of La Bouche. She recalls "although we just began working together, the chemistry was perfect!".
