Salt Lake City, Utah.
A kitschy Indian totem somewhere in Idaho
Idaho is
famous for its potatoes.
There's certainly lots of good farmland.
From Idaho we entered Wyoming,
which is the 9th largest state in the U.S. but ranks 50th as far
as population goes! We drove through which is really beautiful. We were
finally able to cool down
after driving such a long way.
In order to visit Yellowstone Park we stopped for two days in Jackson Hole, a charming Old West place which we loved. This is Ale fondling a friendly dog at our motel | ![]() |

We couldn't wait to see the beauties ahead of us so the same evening we arrived we drove on into Grand Teton National Park | ![]() |
These are the Grand Teton mountains and the lake. |
Driving back to Jackson Hole we saw a lot of cars stopped at the side of the road and decided to see what was going on. | ![]() |
We'd never seen a live moose before! They're huge, majestic animals and I can't imagine how anyone could want to kill them and use their heads as trophies. |
The next day we set out to visit Yellowstone. Entering the
park we saw the devastation caused by the fires some years back.
It's unimaginable until you've seen it.
We went to see the geysers first and were rewarded by Old Faithful living
up to its name and showing itself right on time!
On the left
side of this sign rivers flow into the Pacific Ocean, on the
right into the Atlantic!
Yellowstone is also famous for its hot pools, which amazed the pioneers when they
encountered them.
Look who was watching us watch her!!!
