The entrance to the villa, after the street gate and an outdoor terrace with a marble table with an outdoor kitchen, trough the kitchen. Small but with everyhting you may need: gas stove, oven, two refrigerator, dishwasher and laundry machine. There is a door to a bathroom with shower and the access to the living and dining are. The furniture are nice and is a mix of moder and antique stuff. There is a very nice wood-burning stove nad this room is lofted, so through some stairs up you'll reach the bedroom with a double bed. This one has a romantic feeling as a small window give you a view of the tall trees that surround all the property and the wooden celing has a warm touch. Privacy from your friend below still drinking some wine, is guarantee by a curtain from the ceiling to the loft floor. The living/dining room has also french door onto the garden where a table and a couple of chairs will suggest to stay here after your diner. Back in the kitchen on the opposite side of the living entrance there are some stairs up to the other wing of the villa and a frnch door to a backyard with a big marble table for outdoor meals! Trough the stairs up we'll find a long aisle where are lined up a bathroom with tub, a twin bedded bedroom and a double bed bedroom. Both bedroom are lofted, but it is not available as the owner keep there personal stuff. Actually in the double bedroom, she told us that generally they sleep downstairs during the warmer months and upstairs in the winter months...Sicilians, they like complicate things! Anyway this doublebedroom is our favourite because it has a french door that open up onto the covered patio with glicine flowers (a pale purple flowers with an incredible parfume) and the pool! The covered patio has a long marble table (again, another one!) and all the outdoor equipment you may need. At one end there are some stairs up to a solarium where you can be enchanted by the landscape view: green hill going down toward the blue Mediterranean sea. At the other end there is a door to an anti-room and a small bathroom with shower. The Villa is a nice rental, especially for the peculiar location, extremely convenient to explore a part of Sicily still undiscovered. Also it is close to most known places like Cefalù (about 20 km), Palermo (about 60km). Highway is just 12 kilometers away. The closest town is Lascari where you may find shops, bank, post office, grocieries..... |

The area where the villa is located is really really interesting. There are several old little mountain villages to let you discover a new "face" of Sicily: Gratteri, Castelbuono and Isnello just to mention some. In Gratteri there is only one family run "trattoria". The owners are three little cute old lady that transformed their house, so basically you'll eat i their dinig room. Do not expect nothing fancy or wide range of food but sure it is genuine. A must is Cerda, widely known in Sicily for artichoke base cuisine, imagine a classic landscape with rolling hills of tis vegetable. Click here to find out more. Also this area is good to experience the Sicilian north seaside. along with the very famous Cefalù, we suggest to go to Pollina and further away to Castel di Tusa. | |
