Second International Congress
Shamanism and Healing

The International Congress "Shamanism and Healng", the aim of which is to contribute towards preserving the original shamanistic knowledge about life and diseases, thus ensuring that it receives the appropriate attention, acknowledgement, circulation and appreciation, will present authentic Traditional Healers and Shamans from every continent of the world, as well as Researchers and Scientists dealing with medicine, healing plants and traditional cultures. It is going to be the major event in Italy related to these themes and it will be held in the Belgioioso Castle, near Milan, from October 5 to 10, 2000.

PROGRAM
Due to the fact that for most of the healers and shamans this will be the first partecipation at an event of this extent, we would like to organize the program as flexible as possible. That means that also spontaneous changes of the program or of single subjects must be ensured. Therefore we would like to show understanding and openness towards improvisations and also flexibility, to be able to consider not least your individual needs. On these conditions it will be possible to connect different approaches and so, maybe, to open up a new doorways. The program will include every day:

Workshops
Two times a day there will be 8 parallel workshops with around 20-30 partecipants each. The healers and shamans will discuss their healing approaches in depth and will demonstrate their practices, mainly with regard to diagnosis. They will also discuss dreams and visions and give practical instructions for dreaming.

Conference “Non Ordinary Conscious States and Psicoactive Plants”
With medical doctors, researchers and experts on shamanism and healing process.

Ceremonies and Rituals
There will be an opening and a closing ceremony. One nigth different ceremonies will be conducted by one or more shamans. In addition there will be a drum session and a dance ritual.

Meditations
There will be daily meditations in the seminar rooms as well outside, in the nature, wich will include periods of silence, rhythm and movement. Through these meditations we would like to sustain the awareness of the heartbeat, wich is the rhythm of life.

Sharing Groups
There will be a few parallel groups with no more than 20 partecipants and an experienced group instructor (scientists and assistants of the healers and shamans). The purpose of this groups is to share emotions, impressions and to clear and respond to questions.

Panel discussion
In a final panel discussion some of the presenters and partecipants will summarize the week’s events and discuss their impact on our lives.

Translation: most of the speaches will be held in english. Translation will be provided into italian
