On the Road in the USA

Travelling by car through 8 states. A photo album.

August 1996: my boyfriend (Alessandro) and I rented a car in Los Angeles, CA and began our tour of the West Coast of the US.

The trip begins... [on the road]

Our first stop was the Grand Canyon, in Arizona, which was breathtaking.

We then went on to Monument Valley, an amazing, magical place. The red colour of the earth will be forever imprinted in my memory.

When you exit Monument Valley you go straight into Utah.

This rock formation is called Mexican Hat and lends its name to a nearby town.

Utah is also home to many natural arches. This is Ale after he'd climbed up into one of them.

Just before reaching Moab, Utah, there's a place called Hole 'n the Rock. It was shut when we drove past it, but this cute little cat played host to our visit.

After driving all day this is the best reward.
