The Polyphonic Choir "EUTERPE" was founded in 1986
by a group of friends who shared their passion for music under the conduction of Enzo
Corņ. Its name comes from the greek mythology.
Its repertory includes classic polyphonic pieces, international folk songs, some
contemporary ones and recently spirituals and gospels too.
The choir performed at many national concerts and festivals, at two international
festivals and during a tour in Lithuania.
In 1997 it reached the second prize at the 15th Choral Competition in Quartiano, Lodi
(Italy), category "Gospel and Spiritual". At the 1999 edition of the same
competition the choir won 4 first prizes: best choir, best conductor, best piece, best
medium score.
Euterpe means "she giving you happiness". The wish to have good time while
singing originated the annual concert "Vo' gir cantando" as a meeting among
choirs coming from various regions and countries.
The choir is made up of about 25 choristers and conducted by Matteo Salvemini since 1996.
