Presentare l'autore di questa collezione unica al mondo di modelli autocostruiti dei mezzi dei Vigili del Fuoco e di veicoli civili, non è impresa facile. E' realmente difficile descrivere con poche parole la straordinaria abilità ideativa e manuale di Claudio Persenico, appassionato Capo Reparto dei Vigili del Fuoco che vive, lavora e crea a Chiavenna, splendido paese in provincia di Sondrio.

Ma soprattutto come fare a convincerlo a pubblicare queste parole sul sito da lui ideato e costruito?  Solo chi come me lo conosce sa della sua naturale modestia e riservatezza.

Comunque Claudio lo si può definire un figlio d'arte. Nella officina di carpenteria del padre ha imparato a piegare il ferro ai sui voleri, a renderlo minerale vivo e meraviglioso nelle sue realizzazioni. Alla chiamata di leva chiese di  entrare nei Vigili del Fuoco, soddisfacendo quel sogno che tutti noi da piccoli abbiamo avuto almeno una volta sentendo l'ululato di una sirena, o vedendo sfrecciare il rosso mezzo dei pompieri. Diventato effettivo nel 1976 oggi è capo reparto nel Distaccamento della sua città.

Va da sé che quasi per gioco ha cominciato ad abbinare l'entusiasmo e la passione per il suo lavoro con la straordinaria capacità appresa, o forse innata, per i lavori con il ferro, e circa 20 anni fa ha iniziato la costruzione dei modelli in lamiera degli automezzi dei Vigili del Fuoco. E come sempre accade ai veri modellisti è sorta la necessità di rispettare la fedeltà storica del mezzo con il conseguente studio della storia del corpo. Sono stati così costruiti più di 90 modelli che ripercorrono l'evoluzione che ha portato dal Corpo dei Civici pompieri di metà ottocento ai Vigili del Fuoco di oggi.

La costruzione di ogni modello si basa su foto o documenti d'epoca per quei mezzi distrutti o perduti, mentre per quelli conservati nei musei o ancora in servizio, su fotografie spesso eseguite dallo stesso Claudio, abbinate ai manuali d'uso e manutenzione. La costruzione di un mezzo richiede dalle 200 alle 300 ore di intenso lavoro, ma i risultati si commentano da soli e li potrete ammirare nella sezione album fotografico del sito.

Accanto ai mezzi dei VV.F. Claudio ha costruito anche "mezzi civili" che si possono osservare nella sezione non solo VV.F. e che spaziano da camion ad uso industriale, a camper, autovetture ed ambulanze richiesti ed apprezzati dai proprietari ed appassionati del settore.

Fortunatamente la sua capacità non è rimasta inosservata e dal 1991 ad oggi è stato invitato ad esporre i suoi modelli in quasi 100 manifestazioni sia in Italia che all'estero, riscuotendo l'ammirazione degli organizzatori del pubblico e della stampa  intervenuta.

La sua collezione è stata presentata e recensita oltre che in giornali e quotidiani,  in riviste specializzate del settore quali Tutto Modellismo (n°65 maggio 1999 e n° 73 gennaio 2000), Quattroruotine (n°181 2° trimestre 1993, n° 204 luglio/agosto 1997)  Tuttotrasporti ( n°191 dicembre 1997), nonchè pubblicazioni edite dai VV.F del Trentino e del Corpo Nazionale.

La sua collezione è in continua crescita sia nel numero che nella qualità dei mezzi prodotti, e ora non solo appartenenti al Corpo dei Vigili del Fuoco ma anche con colorazioni e modelli civili, non posso quindi che consigliare tutti gli appassionati cultori del modellismo su ruote, di visitare spesso questo sito alla ricerca delle nuove realizzazioni che non mancheranno  di arrivare.

Sabato 30.12.2000 Claudio ha avuto l' onore di rappresentare i 28.000 Vigili del Fuoco del Corpo Nazionale al Giubileo del 2000, donando personalmente al Santo Padre Giovanni Paolo II° un modello da lui costruito, l' Iveco Eurocityfire 100 E 21, ad ulteriore riprova della sua indiscussa bravura.

The presentation of this unique collection of individually built models of fire apparatus and other vehicles is not an easy task.  It is nearly impossible to describe the extraordinary creative and manual skill of Claudio Persenico, a devoted fireman who lives, works, and creates in Chiavenna, a splendid village in the Italian province of Sondrio.
But the greatest challenge is how to convince him to publish these words on this site, which was created and built by him. Only a person who knows him well (like myself) knows his natural modesty and discretion.
In any case, Claudio is literally a child of the arts. It was in his father`s workshop that he learnt to forge metal to obey his will, rendering the magnificent ore into his own creations. When called up to perform his military service, he chose the fire service, fulfilling that common childhood love for the wail of a siren or the sight of a red fire engine.
Appointed in 1976, today he is a Captain in the fire department in his home town. Almost by chance he began to merge his enthusiasm and passion for his firefighting work with his extraordinary skill in metal work, and nearly 20 years ago he began to construct scale models of fire apparatus. And as is usually the case with a true model maker, his commitment to historical accuracy led him to a study of the history of the Italian fire service.
The result is more than 90 models reconstructing the evolution from the original nineteenth century municipal fire brigade to the modern Italian fire service.
The construction of each model is based on old photographs or on historical documents for the apparatus which has been destroyed or lost, while for apparatus still displayed in museums or in service, the construction is based on photographs taken by Claudio himself which are coupled with the actual manufacturer´s operating manuals.
The construction of a vehicle takes from 200 to 300 hours of hard work, but the results are brilliant and you can admire them in the photographic section of the site.
Along with the fire fighting apparatus, Claudio has also built conventional vehicles that you can see in the section "not only the fire-brigade" which range from trucks for industrial use to campers, motor-cars, and ambulances which were requested and admired by owners and modeling enthusiasts.
Fortunately his talent has been noticed and since 1991 up to the present he has been asked to exhibit his models in nearly a hundred shows either in Italy or abroad, winning the admiration of the organizers and of the local press.
His collection has been presented and reviewed not only in newspapers and daily papers, but also in specialty magazines such as "Tutto modellismo", "Quattroruotine", "Tuttotrasporti", as well as other publications produced by the Trentino fire service and the National fire service.
His collection remains in constant growth both for the number and the quality of the apparatus constructed which represent not only the fire service but also civil markings and models.
I can only advise all fans of fire apparatus modeling to visit this site frequently to look for new creations which will surely be forthcoming.
On Saturday 30 December 2000, Claudio had the honour to represent the 28,000 firefighters of the National Fire Service at the Jubilee of 2000, personally presenting Pope John Paul II with one of his models, the Iveco Eurocityfire 100 E 21, yet another sign of his incontestable bravura.

Es ist kein leichtes Unterfangen, den Autor dieser einzigartigen Sammlung von selbstgebauten Feuerwehr und Zivilfahrzeugen vorzustellen. Es ist wirklich schwer, in wenigen Wörtern die außerordentliche Hand und Erfindungsgeschichtlichkeit von Claudio Persenico zu beschreiben. Er ist der begeisterte Abteilungschef der Feuerwehr. Er lebt, arbeitet und erfindet in Chiavenna, wunderschönem Dorf in der Provinz von Sondrio.

Vor allem aber, wie kann man ihn überzeugen, diese Wörter in der von ihm ausgedachten und gebauten Site zu veröffentlichen? Nur wer ihn gut kennt, so wie ich ihn kenne, weiß von seiner natürlichen Bescheidenheit und Zarückhaltung.

Auf jeden Fall kann man sagen, dass Claudio Künstlerblut hat, In der Zimmermannwerkstätte seines Vater hat er gelernt, das Eisen zu seinem Willen zu biegen, es lebendiges und wunderbares Mineral in seinen Werken werden zu lassen. Als er einberufen wurde, bat er in die Feuerwehr eintreten zu können, und für ihn verwirklichte sich jener Traum, den wir alle als kleine Kinder mindestens einmal gehabt haben, wenn wir das Heulen einer Sirene hörten oder das rote vorbeisausendes Feuerwehrfahrzeug sahen.

Im Jahre 1976 wurde er Beruffeuerwehrmann und heute ist er der Chef in der Abteilung seiner Stadt.

Fast als Spiel hat er angefangen, die Begeisterung und Hingabe für seine Arbeit mit der außerordentlichen vielleicht angeborenen Eisenbearbeitungsfähigkeit zu verbinden und ungefähr von 20 Jahren hat er mit dem Bau der Feuerwehrfahrzeuge aus Blech begonnen.

Wie es dann immer bei den echten Modellbauern passiert, ist es notwendig gewesen, die historische Genauigkeit des Fahrzeugs zu respektieren und das bedeutete eine Forschung in der Geschichte des Korps. Mehr als 90 Modelle sind gebaut worden, die Evolution von dem " Corpo dei Civici Pompieri" in der Mitte des 19 Jahrhunderts bis zur heutingen Feuerwehr darstellen.

Der Bau jedes Modells beruht auf Fotos oder historischen Urkunden für die Fahrzeuge, die zerstört oder verloren worden sind, für die, die in Museen bewahrt oder noch in Betrieb sind beruht er auf oft von Claudio selbst gemachten Fotos zusammen mit den Gebrauch und Pflegehandbüchern. Der Bau eines Modells braucht von 200 bis 300 Stunden harter Arbeit, aber die Resultate sind zu sehen und sie können sie in dem Fotoalbum der Site bewundern.

Neben den Feuerwehrfahrzeugen hat Claudio auch "Zivilfahrzeuge" gebaut, die man in der Sektion - nicht nur Feuerwehr - bewundern kann und sie gehen von LKWs, Wohnmobilen, Autos bis zu Krankenwagen, die von Besitzern und Liebhabern gefragt und geschätzt werden.

Zum Glück ist seine Fähigkeit nicht unbeachtet geblieben und von 1991 bis heute ist er eingeladen worden, seine Modelle in fast 100 Veranstaltungen in Italien sowie im Ausland auszustellen. Überall hat er die Bewunderung der Organisatoren, des Publikums und der Presse erhalten.

Seine Sammlung ist ständig an wachsen sowohl in der Zahl als auch in der Qualität der gebauten Fahrzeuge, dei jetzt nicht nur Feuerwehrfahrzeuge sondern auch farbige Zivilmodelle darstellen. Ich kann deswegen den Liebhabern der Radmodelle empfehlen, diese Site oft zu besuchen, um die neuen Werke, die bestimmt noch kommen werden, zu suchen.

Am Samtag 30.12.2000 hat Claudio die Ehre gehabt, die 28.000 Feuerwehrmänner des Corpo Nazionale bei dem Jubiläum 2000 zu vertreten und er hat dem Heiligen Vater Johannes Paul II persönlich ein von ihm gebautes Modell Iveco Eurocity Fire 100 E 21 geschenkt, als weiteren Beweis seiner unbestrittenen Geschichtlichkeit.
