Watertowns
![](watertowns/map-th.jpg)
Jiangsu Province (where I live) and neighbour
Zhejiang are water-rich regions, with lots of waterways, lakes and channels.
Around Suzhou and Shanghai there are many little villages on the water (the
so-called "watertowns") and some of them have been preserved and turned into
turistic attractions. Despite the turists, they are a good way to pass a day and
a brake from the otherwise modern and uninteresting Chinese towns.
