The
Eye, Life, History
It is the largest section of the exhibition and intends
to offer a portrait of Pinna's activity as exhaustive as possible, following
a strict chronological order. The Eye, Life, History offers
all the necessary information for a correct fruition of the synchronic
sections (Themes and Out of Scheme), allowing
the visitor to make an exciting documentary travel shot on the second post
war period in Italy (1944-1977). Pinna observes the rebuilding Italy after
the war period, with a critical attitude, focuzing all the dramatic contrasts
of a country culturally and socially backward.
Themes
In the directrix Themes Pinna's works is
gathered in thematic sections (Rome, Sardinia, South,
Emilian Itineraries, Fellini) synthetising the most emblematic
and meaningful aspects of his production.
Out of scheme
It is the smallest section of the exhibition. It was thought
in order to give a complete and intense portrait of Pinna's activity. From
one side, we focused on what can be considered the favourite Pinna's theme,
the man, underlining all those aspects usually ignored by critics. If in
anthropological subjects like children and women Pinna does not separate
his special introspective sensitiveness from the social context in which
they are placed, in the portraits, mostly men, the physiognomical connotation,
gestures and objects in the same way contributes to the psychological definition
of the portraited people. From the other side we try to clearified the
common place that wants Pinna only interested in the documentary
photography, proving, on the contrary, that he has perceived along his
career the influences of formalism; a surprise for those who have an opinion
of the photographer too linked to the conventional schemes. |
